Pebbles, clear water and the Ionian Sea on your doorstep
Ipsos Beach is only 80 metres from our apartments, which means your first swim of the day can happen before breakfast. Further along the north-east coast you will find quieter coves and livelier resort beaches, so there is a sea day for every mood.

The beach on your doorstep
Ipsos Beach is a long pebble beach of roughly 1.5 kilometres, with clear, shallow water that is easy to enter and well suited to families. There are sunbeds and showers, and a string of beach bars and tavernas right behind the shore, so lunch, a cold drink and a swim are never more than a few steps apart.
Mornings are calm and quiet, while afternoons bring music and a livelier crowd. Walk a little in either direction and you will always find a spot that suits you.
- Bring water shoes: the pebbles are smooth but can be hot at midday.
- Go early for the quietest water and the best choice of sunbeds.
- Sun protection matters: there is little natural shade on the beach.
Dassia Beach
A short ride to the south
Dassia Beach is a long, narrow strip of shingle and coarse sand with calm, clear water. It is the place to try pedalos and other water sports, hire a small boat or simply settle at a beach bar. It is only a few minutes by car or taxi from Ipsos, and the regular public bus also stops there.

Beautiful coves a little further on
Barbati Beach
White pebbles and beach barsA popular beach with white pebbles, clear water and several beach bars. It is reached by car or taxi and is a good choice for a full beach day.
Nissaki Beach
Small, cove-like and clearA small cove-like beach with very clear water, ideal for swimming and snorkelling. Come early in high season, as space is limited.
Water sports and activities
Get out on the water
Around Ipsos and Dassia you can try jet skiing, parasailing, pedalo and boat hire, and there is a diving school in the area for beginners and certified divers. Occasionally dolphins are seen offshore, so keep an eye on the horizon.
Prefer something calmer? Swim out to a pontoon, snorkel along the rocks at the edge of the bay, or simply float and watch the mountains of the mainland across the water.
Calm water near the marina
Gouvia and Kontokali
South of Dassia, the bays of Gouvia and Kontokali have sheltered, calm water that is lovely for relaxed swimming, with restaurants, bars and an evening promenade around the marina.
